How I Got My Laptop Lifestyle Back.... with Affiliate Marketing!!
My husband and I were original laptop lifestylers, pre iPhones. I'm talking 20 years ago. We lived the freedom dream, travelling with our young family. We got to experience the golden days of early internet sales without needing much more than a dream and a great website. The income from our online store supported us for 5 years. As online competition grew though, we decided to focus on raising our kids and continue living the simple life.
We moved to the country and my hubby turned to his electrical licence to cover our living expenses. I got to homeschool our kids. But as they became young adults, the reality of what had happened, smacked us in the face. All of the possibilty that we were - the vision, the opportunity, the freedom - it had reduced itself to the relentless loop of paying the bills. I often joked of how jealous I was of myself 20 years ago.
On top of that, I had become the 'wife' dependent on her 'fella'. That was never supposed to happen. But here I was!!! And there he was, climbing into roofs and under houses, day after day, just to keep our boat afloat.
I so thoroughly wanted my laptop lifestyle back!!!
So I jumped online to see if I could find my way back into the 'digital business world'... a decade later. I was pretty clear. I didn't want the headache of course creation, product production and customer fullfillment. And I really didn't want to be a social media influencer.
I came across some training that really turned the lights on for me.

Instead we got to humbly experience the 'time for money, just to pay the bills loop'.... and tragically surrender so many of the dreams we had for our lives.
I admit that in the years between my online businesses, I felt that I had failed. I saw so many people 'making it' online. I just couldn't think of my 'next level product' to bring to the market, or even how to do it in today's world.
I felt like I had failed my hubby.
I felt like I had failed my kids.
I felt like I had failed my possibility.
And I started to hangout in the imaginings of my final days, reflecting on the life I had lived.... in the pain of being an old lady whose life, was an almost life.... where I almost got to live the life of my dreams.
It was a great suffering, because I had tasted the freedom. I knew it was real. And I just didn't know how to get us back there. The gap just seemed too big, too wide, too impossible. I wasn't tech savvy. I had no product. And I was allergic to social media. It really did feel impossible!!
